Customize peers with the Peer Tracker
Peer Tracker is a patented technology for building peer groups using industry classifications. The degree of similarity between two companies is calculated comparing their sector footprints and measured using comparability scores. Infront Analytics Platform provides you with predefined lists of comparable companies for quick analysis.
The "Peer Tracker" can be used to either understand how predefined lists of comparable companies are generated, or customize predefined comparables to your needs.
"Peer Tracker" settings such as "Size factor" or "Only companies with estimates" have a major impact on the search results. If needed you can clear those check boxes to broaden the search.
Build a custom list of comparables from predefined comparables
For any company, Infront Analytics Platform provides 3 predefined lists ("International Peers", "Regional Peers", "Domestic Peers") made of 15 comparable companies. You can build your own list of comparable companies selecting companies belonging to the predefined peer groups and adding any other company manually if needed.
Click the "+" sign in the last column of "Predefined Comparables" or drag-and-drop the company name to add a company to your personal list. Selected companies appear in the "My List of Comparables" right panel.
Once all companies have been added, click "Save" to save your list.
You can then directly navigate to any of the views available in the "Select Action" drop-down box, or switch to the "My Lists" interface to analyze your personal list further.
Use the "Peer Tracker" to customize the industry sector selection
When a predefined peer group includes companies with low comparability scores, it is recommended to modify the search settings in the "Peer Tracker" to look for additional peers with higher scores. Open the "Peer Tracker" search panel clicking the vertical bar located on the left. The "Peer Tracker" shows the sector footprint for the selected company, that is, all sectors from all available industry classifications in which the company is included. Adjust the focus of the comparable search by changing the sector selection and/or adding a geographical filter. Click "Apply Changes" button to run your customized search.
Peers sorted by decreasing order of comparability score are displayed in the "Results" panel.
