Growth of EBITDA

Definition

The historical increase/decrease in EBITDA over 1 Year.

Calculation Rules

EBITDA (N) = [EBITDA (N) ? EBITDA (N-1)]/EBITDA (N-1)

EBITDA is a measure of profitability excluding depreciation and amortization expenses and unusual expenses. For financial institutions, our calculation of EBITDA also excludes gains on investments which are considered a more volatile source of earnings. For a look at the growth including gains on investment, one should look at growth of EBIT.
